what do you do?
we take photographs, retouch them and train people to take their own. excellent photographs.
what do you shoot?

what’s with the weird name?
we like to see things as if for the first time, everytime. it keeps things fresh and sometimes they look alien. that’s kewl. we’d like to see the world as something fresh and new and shiny. it’d be an alienplanet.
so where’s your impressive portfolio?
we’re starting up. again. so we threw most of it out – this is good for you because until we’ve built it up again you get us at unbelievable prices. once we have a huge portfolio, and start believing our press we’ll become unbelievably arrogant and expensive. so book us now!
i don’t like these images, should I use you?
whether you think we’re perfect for you or you think we’re not perfect for you – you’re probably right. our style isn’t for everybody – it’s a bit of a cross between fashion and journalistic photography – it combines the spontaneity of journalism and the control of fashion. we use lights. always. we’ll bring them to your wedding too. that’s just how we shoot.
we don’t do traditional portraiture. we won’t tell you to smile and say ‘cheese’. it’s edgy – you will work as hard as we do to bring the elements of you-ness into your images. and you’ll be gorgeous, better than you ever thought possible….this is the vogue-cover version of you that should be printed 30ft tall on billboards all over the country.
how do you work?
you tell us what you need, we have a look at some options with you and work up some ideas, then we price the options and tell you about them. then you choose whether you want to go ahead. before you shoot with us we like to have a really good idea of what you want to achieve so that we can set it up before you arrive…time is money, and if we’re setting up while the clock’s ticking it increases your expense…
there’s no static posing in the alienplanet studio, the lights are not fixed in position, and your posing spot is not defined until you get here. it’s about you – not about the formula’s we’ve used in the past that worked…we’ll help you pose, help you get confident, help you smash it out the park. having an idea of what you want to look like, or what you want your event to look like helps us immensely – it means we’re talking the same language immediately.
why don’t you make it easy for me to select a package?
no two products are the same. we don’t believe that one-size-fits-all packages fit very well…they make it easy for photographers, not clients. don’t settle for less than you REALLY want. however we do have some packages – they’re more for indicative pricing though than anything set in stone. you’re ALWAYS welcome to ask for more or less of something etc.
that doesn’t sound like other photographers?
well, we’re a bit like an ad agency in that we treat you as the product – we present you as best we can through our work
